At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games was the moment she made history when she became the first who scored a perfect 10 in bars that were symmetrical. Furthermore, she had six other perfect 10s which made her 14 years of young, the youngest Olympic medallist in every category. Comaneci didn't just get international attention, but she also put Romania in the spotlight. This sporting legend made her a world-wide sensation after she achieved an impossible score. Her story became a legend as well as helped make gymnastics a popular sport all over the world. This changed the perception of female gymnasts.
